About Synapse Neurology

Dr. Sambandam, a triple board certified neurologist, founded Synapse Neurological Care, PA in 2013. Dr. Sambandam attended elementary, middle and high school in Port Charlotte, Florida. He then went on to attend Wake Forest University in North Carolina and obtained a Bachelors degree in English Literature. He attended medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He then completed his Neurology Residency at the University of Florida including time spent as a Chief Resident in Neurology. This was followed by a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship with a focus on Neuromuscular disease at the University of Virginia. 


Of note, Dr. Sambandam has extensive neurological research experience having been involved in investigator initiated research as well as clinical research trials. In addition, he spent time serving as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Neurology at the University of Florida. 

Dr. Sambandam is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) with board certification in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Brain Injury Medicine.
Dr. Sambandam is an assistant professor in Neurology at the University of Central Florida.
